Young adults are struggling to find a fashion platform, to allow them to have a fun experience when sharing their outfit ideas. They find it challenging to gain helpful feedback and save outfit inspiration.

A safe space for sharing your favourite outfits and fashion advice with people all around the world.

Snapshot of key findings

Safe space

Young people valued privacy and really wanted a safe space for sharing fashion, thus they had a strong preference for private groups

Meaningful feedback

Users preferred sharing outfits with their friends who know them well, rather than strangers, as their feedback is more meaningful and curated

Archiving features

An outfit saving function was important for users to grow their personal style

Nicky’s current journey feels like

Nicky's journey is centered around outfit planning for events. Her key steps include identifying events and their dress codes, planning options, trying them on, asking for opinions, and making a final choice for the event.

  • Nicky is hesitant to share her outfit choices publicly and is unable to get an immediate response from her friends online, leaving her unsure about which outfit to choose.

  • A platform that offers diverse style inspiration, allows users to save and curate a personalized style wardrobe, and enables outfit sharing within groups.

  • The purpose of the 1on1 interview with the GM Community Fundraising was to share and understand some of the Salvos recent experience with donor engagement specially during recent COVID restrictions. This really helped me discover opportunities for Toys'n'Tucker community approach through Facebook and technology. By introducing QR code and utilise Facebook campaigns for border engagement and data tracking.

User flow - Ask Fashion Hotline

We developed a Fashion Hotline which allows users to anonymously ask for instant feedback from currently active strangers, safely encouraging interaction in the public realm where a user is not able to access their friends quickly in any given moment, or prefers not to ask those they know

    • Feedback option selections were revised to create more difference around the types ways you can rate

    • The archiving icon was revised and an option to allow mood boards and collections to be made public was included

    • Gamification elements via earning points (lemons) was further developed

    • An additional option when posting to ‘rate my outfit’ was included to allow for the post to be made public

  • Fashionade, a fashion app that engages the fashion-interested, provides a fun, safe and customisable platform to be inspired, to interact with, and get fashion help in one location.

In future, Fashionade will focus on becoming a complete platform for all things fashion

    • Fleshing out archiving and mood boards with personalised tools

    • Develop an e-commerce platform through influencers and online store

  • User testing was a crucial part of our app development process, and it played a vital role in helping us understand what our users truly wanted. We were thrilled to see how much our users loved the app's beautiful user interface and the fun gamification features we incorporated. Their positive feedback confirmed that our design decisions were on the right track. Moreover, their valuable suggestions helped us simplify and enhance the app even more.

“The interface is very eye-catching and likely to appeal to young people”
